I still have a Karpiel armageddon, when I spoke to the guys in karpiel they said they came up with the orignal vpp design, and the rest copyed them that was at a N.O.R.B.A round at Mammoth in 2001
They are a load of fun, I rode a Black Mountain scoot for a few days in Avoriaz, after a half day your flying on it, but its a bit of an art getting on and of the lifts, and a few times I was reaching for the breaks which feels freaky
Should change the name to "Red Bull Whipage"
Still have a red pair of 1999 monsters T's at home, would love to see a pair of new 40's from them
I used a mavic d321 on a hope big un hub (front wheel) that I used from 1998 all the way up till oct 2011, just by checking the spokes once a week made it last that long and its still going, I use a coat hanger wire tied to the forks/frame and about 5mm out from the rim to find the small wobbles, but most of the time I just use feel.
Rack's are great, till some one runs into the back of your car.
It's easy to bleed takes about 5 to do it, but my reverb has poped air seals, leaked oil and has needed to be sent back to Sram 3 times in the last year which has ment it's been of the bike for 9 weeks total so far.
I had a trek y22 back then broke it and got a carbon y22 frame in 1998 under warrenty, still have the replacement frame in plastic wrap un-opened!
My reverb has been back to Sram 3 times so far, and they will not replace it for me with a new modle, takes about 3 weeks each time for a repair.
Love it, got my first clunker type bike when i was six think it was a super deluxe, i was the terror of every walker in the woods, the film BMX bandites made me try all sort of crazy stuff on it. About Us
